Noah Taylor & Ben Oxenbould nominated for Logie in acclaimed Drama Deep Water.

Linsten Morris Actors Noah Taylor and Ben Oxenbould have both gained Logies nominations for their roles in the highly-acclaimed SBS Drama Deep Water.

Taylor plays hardened Detective Nick Manning, who knows how a smart cop talks, interviews, tricks and traps. His co-star and supporting actor Ben Oxenbould has the tough task of playing a revered rugby league player Chris Toohey, who may have had links to some of the past crimes. But getting into character as a macho, league playing Aussie affected by the attacks on gay men wasn’t too much of a stretch for Oxenbould who grew up in Sydney’s north shore and whose high school was near an infamous gay bashing where some men had been assaulted.

Since appearing in iconic Australian films from in the 1980s and 90s, Noah Taylor continues to appear in Australian projects whilst also working with some of the world’s finest directors, including Almost Famous (director, Cameron Crowe), The Life Aquatic (director, Wes Anderson) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (director, Tim Burton). Taylor has garnered critical and public acclaim alike, earning international awards including two Film Critics Circle of Australia Awards, Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival’s President Award as well as a Fantasia Film Festival Jury Prize for Best Actor at the 2012 Fantasia Film Festival for Red, White and Blue. He was also twice nominated for Best Actor at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 1997 for Shine and in 2001 for Almost Famous.

In 2016 Ben Oxenbould had a stellar year in drama, with his roles in ABC drama The Code and highly acclaimed Foxtel drama The Kettering Incident. From 2003 to 2005 Oxenbould featured as one of the ensemble cast of the sketch comedy series Comedy Inc, in which he was noted for several characters, including his parody of cricketer Shane Warne. In 2000, Oxenbould won Best Actor award in the Sydney Opera House.

Linsten Morris would like to congratulate both Ben and Noah on these fantastic nominations are keeping there fingers crossed on the 23rd of April. Goodluck!
